We believe you actually need to stand apart. We believe in being exceptional.
If you’re looking for ways to attract the right clients, or improve something through design, Univers can help. We design alluring, purposeful, beautiful digital and physical things, often based on the brand strategies we write. Many of our clients sell, construct or design the built world. They like how swift and capable we are, but what sets us apart is our ability to make each of our clients in many different fields, exceptional.
Our design process has two equally important aspects — functional and visual. Functional design sets out to make projects effective: who are we talking to, what is the strategy, how will people interact with this? Visual design is the creation of the item which everyone sees, and which makes a memorable impression.
The finished outcomes could be a simple logo design and website, or complete campaigns and apps.
If you want to improve the UX of a website or app, or sell a boutique property development, or just position your brand well, if design is important, we can help.

Who We Are
Univers is a design studio in Melbourne, founded in 2001 by our Art Director Joe Bland, Dean Jacobson is our senior designer, and Andrew Ireland is our design/code specialist. We have a common passion for all forms of design and creative culture.
I write strategy to help our clients form and use their brands well. I lead our design process to create effective, beautiful results. And, I love cycling, photography, cinema and travelling with my amazing family.
I design brand identities, digital interfaces and all other kinds of things which reflect our client’s brands and connect them with their audience. At the moment I'm really into music by Alex Cameron and any film starring Al Pacino.
I combine design and code to create and manage the delivery of projects which set our clients apart. My other favourite things include ridiculously good audio, and a damn fine cup of coffee…or two.
